Welcome to EngFrosh 2003!

If you've made it to this site, you're probably wondering what this EngFrosh thing is all about. You've probably also received information about CUSA's Orientation (or Prep) Week. How do they fit together? CUSA (or the Carleton University Student Association) runs an Orientation week similar to EngFrosh primarily for non-FED (Faculty of Engineering and Design) students. CUSA's Orientation includes a residence oriented component at the beginning of the week. If you are in residence, we recommend that you participate in CUSA's residence orientation (mistakenly billed by us as RRRA Orientation) and EngFrosh. Otherwise, just sign up for EngFrosh.

So what exactly is EngFrosh, you might ask? EngFrosh is eight crazy days of awesome activities and amazing friendships. The connections made from that first week are some of the most valuable things one can have in Engineering; these will be the people who will share your ups and downs throughout your years at Carleton. EngFrosh also gets you involved in the Carleton Student Engineering Society (CSES) from day one. CSES hosts the social events that pull our noses out of our textbooks and keep us from going insane.

Engineering can be a stressful and difficult program at times, and building a strong network of friends is one of the best ways to help to survive the rough spots. EngFrosh pulls together first year students from all areas of the FED, including Industrial Design, Architecture, Information Technology, and all the streams of Engineering, to form a cohesive group who can support and help each other. EngFrosh is also an excellent opportunity for you to meet and become friends with upper year students who can pass on their experiences to you. It's excellent networking from day one.
